Ascorbic acid works chemically instead, so the reaction finishes the moment the water passes through.

Will it fit my shower?
If your shower head or hose screws onto a standard half-inch thread, yes, and that covers nearly every shower in the US. Handheld, fixed and rain heads all work. Pluvena goes between the arm and the head you already own.
Do I need the Pluvering shower head?
No. The cartridge is self-contained and screws straight onto your shower arm. The Pluvering is an optional upgrade.
How long does one cartridge last?
Up to about 1,900 gallons, or roughly 120 showers at about 16 gallons each. For a household of four, each showering once a day, that is about one month. For a couple, about two months. Solo, up to about four months. Longer showers, a high-flow head or more heavily chlorinated water use it up faster, and the gel shows you where you are.
I have hard water. Will this fix it?
No, and we would rather say so. Pluvena neutralizes chlorine and chloramine. Limescale and chalky residue are calcium and magnesium, and those need a softener.
Is it safe for sensitive skin and colored hair?
The formula is dermatologist skin-irritation tested and free of parabens, sulfates, silicones and mineral oil. It rinses off, so contact time is short. For colored hair, less chlorine means slower fading.
Do I have to subscribe?
No. You can buy a single cartridge whenever the gel runs low. If you subscribe, a new cartridge arrives every month at the lower price, which suits most homes where several people share the shower. You can pause or cancel at any time.
